'Seeds & Stems' will be exhibited in New Alliance Bank 's Gallery 195, located on the 4th floor of 195 Church Street in downtown New Haven. This will be the fifth time that Joanne Smaltz and I have combined her gorgeous black and white photographs with my Feral Seed sculpture. A review of a 2005 'Seeds & Stems' exhibit remarks that the pairing of the work "creates a lovely synergy of thematic unity and expressive content - Waterman and Smaltz are both masters of their techniques. Both craft bodies of work that possess an authority and conviction borne of a satisfying union of materials and concept. Both create multileveled art characterized by a seeming desire to fashion a link between the economy and precision of abstraction and the organic associations of natural phenomena."The show runs from Oct. 6 thru January 9th, artist's reception is Tuesday, October 7th, 5-7pm.
